Diameter and height
Leave 40 to 45 cm between the edge and the sofa. In front of an L-shaped sofa, a table of 80 to 100 cm fills the corner without blocking either seat. Keep the top level with the cushions or up to 5 cm lower.
A round coffee table has no corners to catch a knee and leaves an easy way round in a small living room. Choose a diameter of about two thirds of the sofa's length, 60 to 70 cm for a two-seater and 80 to 90 cm for a three-seater, at seat height or just below.
Our first pieces are on their way. We are choosing them one by one from European workshops and makers. Tell me when they arrive.
Buying guide
The circle works best with corner sofas, two facing armchairs and rooms where people cut across to reach a door or where small children play./p>

A pedestal base gives the most knee room, while three or four legs feel lighter. Wood, metal and glass all suit the shape. Stone tops are heavy, so check the weight before carrying one upstairs.
Two round coffee tables of different heights, one tucked partly under the other, give a flexible surface in a small room. Pull the lower one out when friends come round, then slide it back so the walkway opens up again.
About 80 to 90 cm across, or up to 100 cm in front of a corner sofa.
Yes. With no corners they are easier to walk past, and they suit rooms with children.
Wipe with a damp cloth, use coasters on wood and stone, and follow the maker's care notes for any oil or sealant.
